Hey kaibz, the UV coolant only works under UV light which at first i did have UV cold cathode tubes to emit the uv light but they arent that great really if im honest   so i went for just a strip of led light's which gives off a better light through out the case! The coolant is just UV but still has the additives needed like biocides etc being a premixed solution anyway, planning to change the coolant on next maintenance!

Overclocking wise yeah i do have experience, my i5 4690k haswell can be clocked upto 4.7ghz apparently :) im currently clocked @ 4.2ghz with BCLK (base clock) of 100.3 x 42 multiplier with cpu core voltage @ 1.120v prime95 hits temps of no more than 55 deg after a 30mins test! Before the custom loop i did have it clocked @ 4.5ghz on the old cooler but temps exceeded 85+ on using prime95 and the voltage @ 1.350v but would not reach those temps under normal usage anyway, so reverted back to original clock of 4.2ghz. I suspect the cooler wasnt good enough to handle that core voltage of 1.350v

Planning to bump up the clock speed again soon to see what temps will be like and try for 4.4ghz but to be honest 4.2ghz is plenty more than what i need really, even the default clock of 3.5ghz is good and will handle any game/application thrown at it  :)

Thank you Mig.

4,7Ghz potentially....ok i need that...i'm playing on a 120hz monitor and the last tf2 update did hurt my frame rate pretty bad and as tf2 is very cpu dependent, this really got me interested.

I'm on ekwb website right now browsing...

Don't hesitate to give post your temps when you reach 4.4 !!!

Cheers.

Very nice build Mig, I approve of your choice of parts. However you didn't state what radiators you're using, or pump (D5 with EK top?)

Unless you're very unlucky with the silicon lottery I'd expect you to get some great temps with the Devil's Canyon CPU even at 4.4GHz. I look forward to your results.

A certain popular Youtube blogger recently built a Devil's Canyon based gaming rig, put a H80i GT in it with the fans set on low, clocked the 4690k to 4.8GHz and got the temps up to 72c with a stress test. Although I suspect that he got very lucky with the CPU lottery as not many Devil's Canyon CPUs can even hit 4.8GHz, I still expect your 240 rad with larger tubing to be vastly superior. Come on Mig, show us what that beast can do! :D
Also what thermal paste did you use?

PS. Whats the thing to the left of your PC in the second pic, it looks like a cross between a microwave and a speaker? :S

No problem kaibz and will let you know what temps when i eventually clock up to 4.4 or more  :)

Its a EK-coolstream double radiator Topher and EK-xres 100 DDC 3.2 PWM pump/res and thanks for your kind approval on the build!

My previous chip (i5 3570k ivy-bridge) was one of the silicone lottery winners i think personally as it clocked well with some high voltages and was still stable under stress testing with good temps using prime95 and also aida64 extreme.
Not sure if this 4690k (haswell) is a winner just yet trying to run it in a bit as ive only had it a couple of months.
As for thermal paste (TIM) i used Gelid GC-Extreme

To the left in the pic is my subwoofer, would be handy if it was a microwave though topher

Nice i had watercooling before for cpu gpu and even motherboard south bridge if i remember correctly , its bit hassle when u water cool gpu and upgrade it , atm im myself with h80 with 2600k witch pretty cool chip at 4.6 ghz .

i think in future if skylake is good enough and memory will reach 4000 mhz when i upgrade i get something like h110i , even if watercooling is nice as i had it before just takes to much time and effort .

nut looks nice for sure

Cheerz Aras!
Yep it does take time and effort   and money aswell! But overall im happy with the build and some upgrades will be added such as a gpu loop but would like to change the graphics card maybe go over to nvidia and in sli    my r9 290 vapour x needs a fresh application of thermal paste, i think its due for one anyhow
