£30 for an nVidia card

So I kinda got a birthday wish in that my mum is giving me £30 for a graphics card, so I am plucking people's advice over which is best for the price.
Obviously needs CUDA/PhysX support and at least DX10 (ideally 11, but not a necessity) and ideally Open GL 3 or more for if I eventually dual-boot into *nix or need it for multi-platform games.

£30 is that your total budget m8 ?

If so it might get you a GTX260 which supports DX10 i think. not sure about anything higher than that unless you get a very good bargain

Well I don't plan on BF3
But yeah, that's pretty much my budget (sucks to be disabled without disability benefit)
Probably most high-specced game I'd want to run at a decent resolution is either Skyrim or the Assassin Creed games.

What do people think of the 8800 GTS? Finding more of them in my price range and it seems somewhat comparable to 260 GTX.

8800gts one gen down to 260gtx , 260gtx is around around 70 ~ 100 % faster .

Well it certainly would be sweet, but even an 8800 is a massive step up for me;
Compare my HD4350 with an 8800 GTS

would not go from 4 series to 8 series then at least get 4850 or 260 should be around 40 £ or so

Well I dug out a friends old 8600 GS so slotted that in and just the Windows Index score increase is shocking.
Think I should be fine with this for the time being and look at buying a game or too with the money instead =D
