Yea, but why spend more money for stuff you probably won't make any use of? I mean the Rampage III Extreme costs around 400, while the msi 890FX costs nearly the half and you get all the features with both. CPUs cost almost the same, performance also somewhere at the same level.
Such a shame people fall for the marketing bullshit. No offense TroHax.
Non taken.
Besides, I'm not falling for any marketing bullshit. Asus is great and anything from them is nothing short of fantastic, you can say that I'm loyal to the brand name too. I'm not taking this from any TV ad or some online viral marketing bullshit, but this is from my own experience, even though Asus products can be a bit pricey, it's 100% worth it. I've had an Asus p5q motherboard for almost 4 years now, I overclocked my Q6600 on it up until 4.0GHZ but I had to revert back cause my CPU crossed the 70c while on load, now I have a 3.6GHZ which runs great and I had this setup for almost 2 years now.
MSI, on the other hand makes mediocre products, I had an MSI motherboard in my first built pc and I had a shitload of problems with it, I had to RMA it 3 times during the course of 1 year.

I see your point and I hope I didn't seem offensive.
On the other hand, MSI products served me incredibly well, all the top notch systems I had before were MSI based. And I had some negative experiences with Asus but those were minor.
I just do think that nearly all of the high-end products regardless of the brand are rather creations of marketing departments than serving real needs of the customers.

I am a wicked child.

How could I be offended if you added "No offense" at the end of your sentence?

I know what you're saying, but MSI gave me nightmares when I was young, that's why I can only view them as the "cheap getaway" product now. After I completed my first pc build (MSI motherboard), everything was great and it ran smoothly, but after 2 months, the integrated soundcard got busted and I had to RMA it, second time I had some problem with the VGA adapter so I had to RMA again too, I don't remember what was the last thing that made me RMA it again, but it was the last straw for me  .

INTEL CORE I5 760 SKT-1156 RET £185.00
.........................................
TURBOCHARGED GT-R EXTREME" AMD Phenom II Hexa Sexa Core x6 CPU Chip 4GHz £140.38
:? :?
which one :? :? :? :( :) 8O
not alot in the price and they seem to match
i5 760 for £185?
where are you shopping? I buy most my stuff from overclockers UK and they have it for £159 before delivery (although even if you buy a few things delivery is still usually a max of £8)
AMD hex core for £140?? is that the 1055T version by any chance? I was refering to the 1090T black edition which is clocked much higher, this is the one Aras has. The i5 would wipe the floor with the 1055T version, all my comparisons have been against the 1090T (3.2GHz stock) version, this is the one which is a closer match to the i5. However it does cost £230...
EDIT : just noticed that there is a second page of posts here I missed, pleased you found the 1090T black edition, you don't want that 1055T.
The stuff you've picked out - same CPU and mobo as Aras, I'm sure he'll tell you how happy he's been with it!! Ram if spot on, I like my corsair XMS3, great stuff.
