Holy shit, why?
You're in a team with such good people and some excellent teamwork.
The games don't get any more intense than these and its just really, REALLY fun to play like this.
A lot of people that were online yesterday weren't MLG pro's (no offense guys), but some were really, really good with some team coordination.
I had some trouble joining these with RL planning that didn't work out, but i will join more in the future.

For all of you that have downloaded the pl_cashworks demo file you might of noticed how big the file was  , please go to the directory page for the fixed file size http://triggerhappygamers.com/thgdemos/
Thanks for the fix binksy

I think we spent 50% of our focus on the 2nd map spy counting.
10 second spawn + 15 seconds to get forward + 5 seconds to DR.... ok it's spy time, stay frosty team

So am I a lot of the times. Feel a bit out of my depth with so many good players around.
Just.
Don't worry about it too much.
It's intimidating yes, I'm even thinking "ohgodohgodohgod" when we're about to start the map proper (both teams get an infinite amount of setup time until we're both ready).
But just think.
Even I'm playing them so they can't be that bad and you're better than me at this.
Just make sure you have Mumble and get on 10-20 minutes before we start.
And you don't have to stay the class you are on the 2nd map if you don't want, we can plan some class switches.
also it's 9v9 so it's not exactly as intense to a certain point since there aren't as many players.
Both easier and tougher at the same time.
Because of the way the matches are, you will get instructions on what to do. Especially if you haven't done this kind of match before.
Roles for each class is a little different and a lot more structural and fixed for Highlander matches too and with one of each class, you will always feel useful.
Give it a try, you might like it
---------------------------------------
As for my experience.
I liked the 2nd map better.
As a Scout I need a lot of good flanking opportunities.
and the 1st map doesn't really give them, there aren't many routes and the other team will take them all since it's easier to split up and keep together at the same time with fewer routes. I could never get behind the other team and reach their medic and the sniper.
2nd map has a lot of different directions that are spread out more so it splits up teams and sends them quite far, so non-flanking classes try not to do this (so it's only Pyros, Scouts and Spies taking these paths).
I was actually able to get the sniper now and again and even separate the medic on occasions and annoy the team by popping up in places and peppering them with shots from my pistol to distract them and get some to chase me when they should be pushing with the rest of the team.

Actually the sizes are still the same.
Or at least are still quite large

Yeah, I think everyone played well, no one should feel like they let anyone down! :)
Amelia, honestly it's not too much different to a regular night on THG, just a little more structured but nobody will blame you if you were to make a mistake! I'd highly recommend giving it a try for the next event, as others have said it's a lot of fun! The main aim is for everyone to have a good time. :)
If I get time over the next few days I'm planning to put together a highlights reel of pl_cashworks (don't think I have the time or willpower for that mammoth cp_fastlane match  ), I'll post it here when it's done.
[Edit]: Thanks for the heads-up MIG about the cashworks demo, it seems to be around half the size of the original. Thanks to Binksy for the fix! :D

Thanks to MIG and everyone else for these games! I was actually at a friends place and played the event on his computer. And even though he isn't a tf2 guy, he started watching the match at the end of cashworks and was slightly impressed by it too Especially where the cart was basically on the last point and we still had to defend it for like 6 minutes or so.
Mandatory words of encouragement for Amelia: Just do it. You may feel helpless and incompetent at first but once you get addicted to these events you simply cannot stop. People are good here (except Coins, I know I am MLG pro, shut up) no need to be afraid.

Aeryn to view the demo files download from here http://triggerhappygamers.com/thgdemos/ find the download to were it was placed on your pc, drag and drop or copy paste the file into your steam/steamapps/common/team fortress 2/tf folder. go into tf folder scroll down and you should see the file which is DEM file something like this thg-20150410-201909-cp_steel.dem once the file is in that tf/ directory all you have to do is load tf2 up and on the welcome screen just press shift + f2 to bring up the demo ui tool then hit load and look for the file which is usually at the bottom of the folder then load again or double click the file. hope this helps
