Next Meetup - Copenhagen
It's been a while since the last one...so it's time to figure out where to have a meetup next!
Nothing set in stone right now regarding time or location, but October (since it's May already) seems a possible choice. It's looking like one of the few months that's free for Aeryn (serial-traveller!)
Possible locations
- Edinburgh (We even had some sun last time)
- Netherlands (Went to Amsterdam last time - more than happy to go back, or to anywhere else in holland)
- Denmark (Copenhagen most likely) - Should be a direct flight for most.
- Germany (Possibly berlin / frankfurt / munich?) - Should be easy flights or trains for those closer.
- Somewhere in England? (If more of the people interested are in the UK)
Of course other suggestions welcome.
If you've never been to a meetup before, we generally do a few touristy things, go out for a meal or two and generally have a few beers and a fun time. So if you've never been to a meetup before, great! Come join us. If you've endured enjoyed a previous meetup, great! Come back!
What I need from you guys:
- Are you interested in coming along?
- What times of year work / don't work? Would October work?
Once we've sorted out more of the details we can move things along.

Re: Next Meetup
First!
Edit: now that the match is over, I can post something more constructive.
Possible locations
- Edinburgh (We even had some sun last time) Fine
- Netherlands (Went to Amsterdam last time - more than happy to go back, or to anywhere else in holland) Fine
- Denmark (Copenhagen most likely) - Should be a direct flight for most. Fine - stockholm may be another location with lots of direct flights
- Germany (Possibly berlin / frankfurt / munich?) - Should be easy flights or trains for those closer. Fine (although avoiding the octoberfest crowds/prices would be better)
- Somewhere in England? (If more of the people interested are in the UK) Fine
UK would be easiest for us to get to but we're happy to fly if something continental is chosen instead.
What I need from you guys:
- Are you interested in coming along? yes (+1)
- What times of year work / don't work? Would October work? october is probably the best combination of weather and availability, although we may be able to do september/novemeber.

Re: Next Meetup
I'm up for it any time as long as I get a few good weeks to get a few days off work which shouldn't be to much of a problem. Im happy going anywhere although I am biased to UK as it would be easier for me of cause that's selfish n all and I know that but that's my only preference to this whole thing
Re: Next Meetup
Very much interested!
All of the locations is fine with me
Prefer Denmark and England. Just been to Amsterdam...
Would like to visit England, but would be very proud to show off Denmark!
Pros:
Great airport with direct flights to pretty much anywhere.
Our infrastructure is very good, you can get anywhere with busses and train.
This transport can however be replaced with bikes, Copenhagen is the city of bikes, very cheap and mobile alternative.
It is possible to have a cheap trip, when it comes to sightseeing: LINK CPH Budget
Very beutiful castles, parks, architecture, coasts.
That was the "free" part
This is where it shines (everything is better with great weather, CANNOT promise this thought... But you guys are used to such weather.
Here is a list of the attractions we have in Copenhagen:
Take a look LINK Top 30 Attractions
As my friend beside me just mentioned to me, we can get anywhere walking.
A lot of life, people are happy ^^
Cons:
The weather is questionable.
High taxes = High salaries to compensate = Expensive for outsiders when it comes to Pubs and such (However, only a bit more than other Capitals, it is generally pricy in my experience.)
Everyone but me has to travel.
Couldn't really find much else
Copenhagen is great honestly, from what I hear, people who have visited Copenhagen is very pleased.
- Fnif, would love to visit London at some point
You forgot legoland on yer list of pro's FNIF :p
Well. Yes, Legoland is a must see when visiting DENMARK, and not Copenhagen.
I mean, possible, but takes time and money.

Re: Next Meetup
That's a good idea All the locations you mentioned are fine for me to be honest!
If work allows it then I'm interested in coming along again October shouldn't be too busy for me at work so no problem there.

It was flat and your money has holes in. Coins would not visit for fear of being cut open .

I can't say anything for sure until time and place has been locked - the closer to Finland the better for the poor student :D
