"All-in-one voice and text chat for gamers that’s free, secure, and works on both your desktop and phone. Stop paying for TeamSpeak servers and hassling with Skype. Simplify your life."
A few of us tried it out weeks ago, but thought I'd post it here to make it more visible to others. The server is hosted in the cloud and it's free! Voice quality seems great so far too.
For anyone who wants to give it a go, here's an invite to join:

I must disagree with this, everytime you spoke the quality of sound was much worse than on Mumble, but it might have been just me.. 8O

I have used discord before and imo its the best VOIP because comms are always crystal clear and you don't have to download anything to use it.
I doubt people will quit mumble for it however, old habits die hard.

Discord is good, but I think we are stuck in a slow transition between mumble and discord.
Some people know we can use discord but we haven't made the step of physically using it. If we could get some sort of discord app on the home page just like mumble, it might bring more attention to it

Knigget FYI the discord program is literally a wrapper with a webbrowser inside pointing at the website , nothing special IMO

The app just points to the discord website.
Discord pretty much got the gaming side sorted, they are trying to compete with Skype so do expect more technology coming out of them.

Re: Discord App
Tbh the link is dead. You should set it to unlimited so the link never dies.
Also ppl should really consider to change to Discord since its
1. Free (Everyone can make a server)
2.It almost have better voice quality then mumble.
3. Its activly getting developed.
etc..
And maybe you guys should shutdown Mumble and only use Discord.

Transition can be made easier by removing the embedded mumble and replacing it with discord.
Link to embed discord should be somewhere in the discord server settings
Final step is to find the website admin to change the html to point to discord instead of mumble

Re: Discord App
I can't help, but to bump up this thread.
There has been a lot more activity on Discord, some just totally abandoned Mumble for ever.
Maybe there can be a little more of a transition push from Mumble to Discord. Its just more stable and personal.
