Heyyyy.
So here's my problem: I want to be able to stream Mp3 files in my browser (Firefox 4) without my external player (Winamp) loosing or fucking up its playlist. So if I paste in a link to an Mp3 file, it plays the file in the browser.
The second problem I have is that I have only found that Quicktime can do this, however since Apple are twats and retarded I cannot download mp3 files from their plugin (it needs to be Quicktime Pro...), I NEED a link that I can right click on and choose save as. But if I only have the address and not a link to click on, I'm screwed.
So, I have looked on Mozilla addons, I have tried Quicktime Alternative (which is no different from normal Quicktime) and I have tried a WMP plugin, which seems to be only for Media Player Streams.
So, do YOU fellas know of any alternative to Quicktime that enables me to play Mp3 files in the browser and also give me the option to download the file through the plugin?
Apple is a cancer, it needs to die.
(carlos: edited your c word use it again i will chop your nuts off lol)

Re: Quicktime sucks, help me find an alternative?
if you use quicktime alternative and get the firefox addon "FlashGot" you will get a little icon from flashgot showing in the statusbar while streaming the mp3, upon clicking it you can choose a folder where to save the file.
Re: Quicktime sucks, help me find an alternative?
I don't know of any useful addons for that, but DownloadHelper for Firefox, like carlos said, should take care of it.
Otherwise, you could just make a simple HTML document containing <a>Download</a>, and use that to download the file. Or hell, post it to bit.ly or something, that should work as well.

Re: Quicktime sucks, help me find an alternative?
yeah, I've used an html document with only <a href=http://www.site.dom/file.type> Download </a> in it to download quite a few things (like flash videos and such)
Though I guess it's a bit impractical at times

Re: Quicktime sucks, help me find an alternative?
Right, I ended up installing Quicktime again, as for now I will use it. I ended up solving the problem with the program by finding a [Redacted].
Since I already need to have iTunes installed I might as well have Quicktime as well. QT Alternative isn't updated with the latest background application software so a conflict came up with iTunes. Well, with it being in a registered state it works almost like a normal program... Yeah...
Regarding download helpers: do they still work even if you have no "main page" to see the content on? Ah well, no matter now I suppose. Generally if I want to download embedded content I look at the elements in Adblock plus and grab the link there.
Will have them in mind if I have some future downloading problems, thanks for the tips!
Regarding creating a html file: Yeah, I thought about this as well, but it seemed counter-productive in the long run.

I agree here, bugs, issues with playing different formats, in general, many people complain, I do not know about other operational systems, but for mac: https://mac.eltima.com/quicktime-alternative-mac.html
