I must take umbridge at the "threatening to ban" comment...
I kept asking if any Admin was on (I believe 2 or 3 times) with no luck. Then Binksy messaged me about the lag issue, so I mentioned about the spawn camping and he told me about the "voteban" option, which I decided to use since he wouldn't stop spawn camping. If I remember correctly, 2 or 3 other people also used the command after me and funnily enough the spawn camping stopped.
Thanks for the apology and I look forward to playing with/against you in the future since you're a damn good player even without the spawn camping ;p
Edit: Oh yes, and the voteban only bans for 30 mins

Yes i know this dude NOT that, that means its ok cos it doesn't.
Spawn Attacking is allowed to an extend as its part of the game. Obviously as we have a rule wish states Please keep spawn attacking to the minimum, ie sweeping spawn etc.
A demo would be good but he did speak with me and i did tell him its a rule on our server so he should be a little more gentle next time.
But if you get a demo of it next time others can see for there selfs as some maps and spawn attacks are not that bad and can normally be sorted by asking them NOT TO DO IT. That's not always the case.
We have allot of maps that the spawn location is right at the point off attack.
Anyway get demo's of it if possible its good to chat about it and make others aware that its not nice ^^.

If someone is spawn camping and you don't like it, just ask them politely not to do it and most the time they will back off.
Personally I'll never kick anyone for it since the whole point of maps like goldrush is to stop/block the other team so you can complete you objective, be it pushing the cart, or not letting the other team get near it. I mean, the start of every stage has red spawn camping blue, yet no one complains. But as soon as the table are turned, and blues push the reds back to their spawn, people tend to get worked up.
Part of the problem is people have expectations about what to expect when playing, and if anyone messes with that, it can throw them off. Take goldrush stage 2 for example. Red camps outside the blue spawn at the start and everyone is fine with that. But once blue are out and attacking 2.2, if red push blue all the way back to their spawn once again, people get upset and yell at others to stop spawn camping. Why? Because they expect to able to walk past 2.1 without being harmed and when they cant it throws a spanner in those expectations and, instead of changing their mindset to clearing that area out again, they yell at the other team.
Its the same with the red spawn. Take gravepit for example. The other day a lot were complaining about a pyro of all classes spawn camping the left exit. Why? Again because they were expecting to be able to get to where ever they were going (to A or B, since C wasn't capped) without having to die. They could have easily killed him since they have a health cabinet to keep them up whilst weakening him, or barring that gone out the other door, but instead tried to voteban him off the server.
Now I am not saying that everyone should go out and spawn camp, because there is another side to it and that is, whether it is right or wrong, it does annoy quite a few people. And this is why I will pretty much never do it myself and is something everyone should think about. Because the quality of the games on the servers and our own enjoyment is all wrapped up and connected to everyone who plays on there, and in the end, if you are doing anything that is detrimental to that, then you are only making things worse for yourself.

At the beginning of each stage the RED team aren't spawn camping BLU unless they are attacking the very spawn doors themselves.
My way of thinking about it is if the team is attacking the enemy spawn room in a way that is difficult do deal with such as stickies, a sentry gun or a heavy/pyro - medic combo its unacceptable and in my opinion, rude.
If the team is camping with easy to defeat classes such as a spy, loan pyro, loan soldier etc... then its ok but only for a limited amount of time.
If the team is camping the route just before the spawn, in my opinion:- totally acceptable.
So I guess its a complex issue but all in all, I tend to avoid doing it myself since its just not playing in a respectable manner. It's not fun walking out your spawn after having to wait for your spawn counter to go down then having to repeat the same thing all over again.

spawn camping is part of this game and this cant be denied. Only issue with it that I have is when attacking team does it, especially on maps that punish reds (with prolonged respawn) for loosing points. Obviously there are situations that it cant be stopped.. steel being prime example.
And for all that are interested - I will kick for medic+ combos, stickies, and spawn camping sg's.. but i dont think that single player - however good he is- can spawn camp for long time.. just get your act together ppl.. pay attention.. fight starts as soon as you spawn, not when you want it to

Lord Vader finds your lack of competence.. disturbing..

The way I see it RED never spawncamps BLU, they are just protecting the objective. The problem is that BLU objective most of the time can be completed without getting anywhere near the RED spawn. So if you have to spawncamp, then fine do it, but do it to buy your team time to win the round. If you are doing it over and over again just to be a prick however then that sucks.

Exactly, most attack/defend maps have the spawn away from any objectives so as to allow BLU to do their stuff without needing to spawn camp, especially with default spawn times.

From what I know, Mortis is quite a good player and understands well about the maps. Spawn camping is annoying because it's the only way for blue or red to get into the battle. The camper is hard to kill as he does not need to worry about what will come to his back which is normally how a player is killed. However, the right question to ask is how the camper gets to the position. A better way to stop spawn camping is to stop to camper on his way to the spawn instead of moaning. For example, if red has a spawn camper for 1.2, it pretty much means red has already lost most of the grounds in front of the CP or not covering it well. Then blue deserve the win no matter whether they camp spawn or not. PPl need to understand doing well in TF2 requires two skills. Shooting is the basic, but a good understanding of the map and situation is equally important.

Tis indeed Badger, its Mors. Never used to spawncamp, and even if i was admin I still wouldn't let him do it. I'll give him grief about it aswell.
*edit* He has already been reprimanded, should read the whole thing before posting :p.
