Re: TF2 Guide
If you are feeling adventurous you might even want to even step away from TF2 for a
moment and put in some time in a proper deathmatch game, such as one of the
Quakes (Quakelive is free to play if you don’t have any of the others),
Hmm..I might give this a shot.
Good job on the guide!

Looks great so far. I'll comment more when I've read it all.

Re: TF2 Guide
I've been reading it, the bit on movement is very good although slightly scary imagining Precizion manipulating you like a puppet! Just had an absolute blast of a round on Badlands - 20 kills 1 death as soldier all the while thinking more about my movement.
Re: TF2 Guide
Just figured I would give this thread a bump, as this is a great guide
Give it a read, guys

Re: TF2 Guide
Has it really been two years since I wrote that?
Mind you, you can probably tell how long ago it was just by how out of date a lot of the stuff is. Just take a look at the Heavy section where I try to explain the class isn't weak and is, if anything, a little overpowered. That probably seems strange today to anyone new with how it is, but back before it got buffed and before people learnt how to use it (and also improved their aim in the intervening years), that really was the prevailing wisdom among a lot of players.
Just how much the game has changed since then also shows up with how the Solider is no longer as strong as I would have said it was back then either. What with the aforementioned Heavies being played a lot more (which you have little chance against if they're being healed, which they usually are), Pyro getting it's airblast, Engys getting the Wrangler, and everyone getting a lot, lot better with the Demo, the class no longer has it as easy as it once did.
Makes you wonder just how things will be in another couple of years (especially at that rate new items are put in these days).

Valve will continue to make an attempt to nerf demo, continue to fail. Pyro will get everything (pyros will continue to whinge that they are underpowered as their weapons uber them and give them crits). Heavy will get weapons, seem OP (though not really) and get nerfed a month later when everyone has figured out how to beat it anyway, heavy goes back to the shadows. Sniper gets more piss, not a lot else. Medic gets jack. Spy gets more invisible and annoying. Scout gets a hat, maybe a coke. Soldier will get all kinds of weapons that do nothing to improve the class. Engineer will get crazy weapons that remove him from his job as support and the team will complain repeatedly.
not a cynic with 4+ years of watching valve evolve TF2 into the elephant man at all lol
