Name: Chris

Age: 24

Occupation: Pesky student! I'm doing Forensic Computing at UWE, about to start my final year (if I can't find a decent placement)

Lives in: Bristol (when at uni) or Gloucester (during holidays and when I need the free food)

Hobbies: Drinking, sleeping, going to live music & comedy. Anyone going to the Big Chill this year?

Background: The details of my life are quite inconsequential... very well, where do I begin?

My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament.

My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking- I highly suggest you try it.

Real Name: Tom
Age: 22
From: Either the east or west midlands, depending on the time of year.
Occupation: Student right now, studying a weird mix of Creative Writing and Linguistics. I feel like I'm the only one here not doing anything mathematical.
Hobbies: Games and computer stuff (hence me being here). I like to play music a lot, only acoustic guitar, which I realise is kind of cliche, but it's a lot of fun. I waste far too much time watching films, an unrealistic 'dream job' of mine would be to write screenplays. I'm somewhat involved in political stuff, although that's something I should spend more time with.

And that's all I can think of. I'm not great at these things Razz

Hello,

I'm 27 years old. I am an American from Boston. I studied philosophy and cultural theory at university.

At uni I met my wife, a Belgian woman. She was one of my teachers at university. After I passed the class I asked her out, and now here I am in Belgium posting to your forum.

For work I've been a security guard, janitor, plumber's assistant, librarian, ESL teacher, painter, and who knows what next. Hopefully something that pays better and has health insurance. I used to want to be a philosophy professor but I found the people I was working with in the PHD track to be the most pretentious and arrogant vein-heads imaginable, so I dropped it and I now have to find a fresh start career wise.

I have been living in Belgium for the past seven months, but plan on returning to the states later this year--I just cant find work here due to the language barriers and I miss Boston much more than I anticipated.

I love film, books, and music. Lately I've been reading detective novels by George Pelecanos but I try to throw some classics and philosophy/history into the mix. I've been listening to a lot of Bowie and Nick Cave recently, and Sam Cooke. Sam Cooke is the man.

Cheers. See you in game.
