Hello, so the question is do you read books in your freetime ?
I am pretty eager reader myself, my favorite genre is fantasy, like the Lord of the Rings, Dragonlance, Forgotten Realms and the Discworld series by Terry Pratchet.
I also like the ye olde Sherlock Holmes novels and good thrillers like Dan Brown's the Da Vinci code etc. and The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco. |

Only books i really enjoyed reading are the Discworld book......Men at Arms got me started, and I have read most of them now.
Have also read the Lord of the Rings which took me 3 months to finish while I was playing cricket in Australia! Its a bloody travesty that they left the proper ending out of the third film!!! Other than that I find reading extremely boring hahaha |

I love reading, Discworld is probably my favourite series too, especially the ones with the watch. I've (almost) all of them and I'm currently going back through them all. At the moment I'm reading Sourcery as well as World War Z, which is great so far. It's a post-zombie-war book, written as a collection of interviews with people that lived through it.
The last non-discworld book I read was The Gathering Storm, the latest in the Wheel of Time series, probably the most epic series ever, currently 12 books and a prequel, averaging about 800 pages per book. Unfortunately the author died after book 11
RIP Robert Jordan, Brandon Sanderson is doing a fine job finishing it. |

I used to read A LOT, but since I started in the university my reading has mostly been exam books I do still read for fun when I don't have so much to read for studying. Lord of the Rings is an alltime favourite, as are the Discworld books. So sad that Terry Pratchett probably won't be writing much more because of Alzhaimer's Overall I like fantasy and historical books most. Right now I'm reading the Emperor-series by Conn Iggulden (Thankst to bluefox for recommending!) and The Greatest Show on Earth, by Richard Dawkins.
P.S Check out some books by this Finnish author Mika Waltari |

I am both surprised and relieved that no one has mentioned a certain teenage wizard yet.
I don't read as much as I would like too :/.
At the moment I'm into crime thriller type genre I guess and am reading one of Ian Rankin's novels.

Haven't read his Emperor series yet, but the Conquerer series is great. I love historical fiction too, David Gemmel's Troy books are great, not exactly historical fiction but it's the closest category that fits. |
