they are now, the last update we had :
# Updated the new community-built hats so they can be crafted
# Updated the Camera Beard and Medic Mask so they can be crafted as hats

I now nearly have 4 refined metal which is enough to craft a class specific hat, good thing i waited and didn't get some random old hat.

What are you aiming to get? I still wish they had an option for creating a specific hat, I don't see why it has to be random.

this would lead to thousands of tyrants helmets and none of trophy belts...for example Smile
im fine with the random nature of the crafting, as long as valve still works on implementing a trading system...got 2 scout hats now, and i obviously only need 1 Smile

Don't feel bad Inferiorum, neither do I have any hats yet, even though I have been playing TF2 since the release of Orange Box (except ofcourse the gibus and lament)
