Ok this is no rumour TF2 is being beta tested right now by a bunch of clans/players and its not public! 'YET'
The reasons are "so i think" because game play is unbalanced and not good for match play! so they want to tweak it.
I will have to add more info latter as i'm really busy working in my garden lol. here are some links for you lot to start following and updating us all.

[confirmed] The first suit is as heard of before, giving the spy 90% damage reduction from flames and takes the place of his revolver.

Yeah, pyros and spies aren't often used in competitive play, i guess they're trying to make them more viable.
Will these changes take place throughout the whole game or just servers running competitive match configs? If the latter then when the changes are released we should have a server to test them out on, ie server #2. |

Yea i know, but making changes to a class that isnt really used, to give it more survivability vs another class that isnt used, doesnt really make it more viable
I think competitive spys(well when someone goes spy for a few) arent bothered by flames at all  |

Now the suit idea from my pov (Someone who plays spy alot) Is a useless idea. Unless it was given the option to use that reduction to put out the flames while stealthed.
Never really have a problem with pyro's, unless luck sprays get me  |

I believe we are referring to competitive mode for TF2 only here. The game needs it after the umpteenth update messed up the delicate balance between all the classes. |

yeah... right... ;P
it already takes really long to kill spy with death ringer.. (i think its even easier to kill overhealed heavy), with that suit it will take even longer now :/ |

Let only the important bits there
Competitive play: 2x scout, 2x soldier, 1x demo, 1x medic
Unless times'a'changing and there's another format...no significant changes happened there.
On the other hand, if they want to make all the classes viable for competitive play...mmmm |
