I disagree with some of the pyro bashing....

Its one of my least played classes (around 3 hours or something - i dont mind playing any class tbh) and it used to be the most rubbish class in TFC, but now its become much more rounded and i think it works well on both offence and defence.

In offence sure you cant take out the sgs, but neither can a medic or scout (well you CAN with scout, but its not like being a demoman...) and when armed with the standard flamethrower (blowbacks against soldiers and throwing enemy medics around) and the uber axe, its a right pain in the arse once you have mastered quickly flaming someone and smacking them down since you are faster than most other classes.

In defence you're just setting everyone on fire and shredding 70hp or so over the duration they are alight and helping to defend your sgs against spy attacks. Also still being able to blast medics away from their uber target and push people off cap points is useful. I dont see why people bother with the backburner!? Smile

Just got back from the cinema after watching it. Pretty good movie i got to say - some very good cinematography and "ooohhh" scenes. Would have been a bit better if there wasn't some guy clapping every time something big happened (better than a mobile phone going off mind you..) I'd give it a respectable 6.9/10...

If you are planning on going to see it, wait til after the credits roll - there's an extra hidden scene at the end Happy

Actually i dont find jumping on a crit stickie to do much more damage... I find you get about 50 damage per stickie (depending on if you jump before detonating or not).

And i totally agree with Mailman in that you should leave stickies in plain sight. I sometimes do this and actually just bugger off - most decent players will not go over them and its a good scare tactic Smile

Do we have a channel? Should we get a channel?

I haven't used it in years, but it used to be a nice place for friendly banter and to get to know people...

OK so i loved TFC. I stil think it's the best. game. ever.

I don't play it any more and haven't for a couple of years, but if someone was to ask for an all time favourite that would be it.

Saying that, I was surprised when some maps weren't ported over to TF2. A few spring to mind:
- rock2
- cz2
- shutdown2

What happened to these?? They used to be fun goddamit...

Any other players out there want to reminise about the good old days? Cool

sell your xbox and use the money to upgrade your pc

consoles are dead money anyway, from the second you buy it it's decreases in value. over time the games become out-dated, as does the technology - yeah they look pretty good for a year or so, but they'll never be as good as the high end pc's

and if you wait a few months, GTA IV'll be ported to the pc anyway lol

OK so this starts a religious-type debate that has no definitive answer, just opinions, but I used to be JUST like that.

I have been a PC-faced-man for all my life (first one was an Intel 486 SX-25... you might want to look that up Wink) until i bought a Wii just over a year ago, followed by an Xbox360 last December. I have to admit the Wii can never beat a PC when you have a couple of friends over and you have 4 controllers or a couple of dance mats/guitars (my neighbours must hate me) and the Xbox is a fatastic media centre for those of us lucky enough to have a fancy HD TV. And tbh the graphics are pretty damn sweet on the Xbox, with exclusives you don't get as soon or at all on a PC (GTA 4, Fight night round 3, etc..) and it wouldn't be the same experience on a PC.

Of course there is the other side of the fence which im a staunch defender of, and the PC just completely thrashes any console hands-down in many things including ALL online gaming (tried CoD4 on the Xbox online, then soon realised i could be playing TF2 instead...), any strategy game (Medieval Total War with a palystation controller? p-lease...) and going on the www.

Yes I will be selling my Xbox 360 in probably 2 years or so - whenever the next generation comes out. I think ?80 off what will probably be a ?300 console over 30 or so months is a pretty good investment compared to the amount i (can) spend on my PC Wink

Always a good way to introduce yourself to strangers (and admitting it is the first step to recovery).

25/m/UK. Used to be a hardcore TFC player in the UKTFCL premiership but that kind of commitment is pretty difficult these days. Restricted to the evenings unfortunately as work tends to get in the way between waking up and 5-6pm...

Look forward to catching you on the servers.

Oh, whats the dilly dally with server upkeep?
